The Alliance shall be known as the “Manchester & District Golf Alliance” its objectives are to bring together Amateur and Professional golfers for competition play during any period of the year it may decide.
The Alliance shall consist of golf clubs whose membership extends to their playing members and their Professional staff. A “Member” is any golf club who has paid the current membership fee to the Manchester & District Golf Alliance.
Any Amateur or Professional who is at a club that is not a member of the M&DGA may become an Individual Member at the discretion of the Executive Committee subject to :-
a The annual payment of a specified fee.
b Any playing partner(s) must be from a Member Club, and minimum age 18.
A condition of membership is that, when requested, member clubs must grant the Alliance a fixture “normally a Wednesday” at least once every three years. The format of the fixture is to be at the discretion of the Alliance.
The financial year of the Alliance shall commence on 1st August on which date each year all subscriptions become due and are payable to the Hon. Treasurer. Each club shall pay an annual subscription determined by the Executive. Any club failing to pay their subscription by 30th October shall be deemed to have forfeited Membership.
Any club and its members who use a non-PGA member for the provision of services at that club normally provided by a PGA member shall not be eligible for membership of the Alliance.
The management of the Alliance and the control of competitions shall be the responsibility of the Executive.
The business of the Annual General Meeting shall include the reports of the Executive, the passing of the Annual Accounts, the election from among the members of an Honorary Auditor, and such additional officers as the meeting may think proper.
At the Annual General Meeting clubs who are affiliated to the Alliance may be represented by a member, who shall be entitled to vote. All professional and assistant professional members shall be entitled to attend.
At the Annual General Meeting of members the officers elected for the year shall be President, Vice-President, Captain, Honorary Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer. All shall be ex-officio members of the Executive.
An Extra ordinary Meeting shall be held on the signed requisition of 25 members duly handed to the Hon. Secretary.
