Winter Series
Entry to the Winter Series Competitions can be made by emailing mdgawinterseries@yahoo.com.
All professionals must be registered with the PGA and must enter Alliance events in the name of their home club and not under the name of a sponsor. All Pro-Am partnerships must be entered in the professional’s name.
The Executive reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason. The Executive will also have the power to deal summarily with any professional or amateur, who In its opinion is responsible for conduct which offends against the ethics of golf or the rules of the Alliance.
Ties in events will be decided in accordance with the rules of the Manchester & District Golf Alliance which are:-
In the event of a tie in any stableford competition it shall be decided by the greatest number of points scored in the last 9 holes, 6 holes, 3 holes, 2 holes, 1 hole in that order. If there is still a tie, individual holes, starting at the first will be compared.
In the event of a tie in a two tee start competition it shall be decided over the 9 holes with the lowest stroke indexes – in descending order if necessary.
The Strokeplay Championship shall be limited to 90 players.
In the event of a tie in the Strokeplay Championship winners will be decided in a sudden death play off over holes decided by the Alliance Executive.
Competitions shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, and by the bylaws of the club on whose course the competition is held so far as they are approved by the Executive.
The Executive reserves the right to make or vary any regulation governing competitions to meet any emergency that may arise
Handicaps
All players must play off the Handicap Index shown in the England Golf App on the day of the event.
Competitors must have registered a minimum of 5 scores acceptable for handicap purposes in the 12 months prior to the day of the event,
