Great night for Cheshire at England Golf Awards
Cheshire Golf Ltd has been named County of the Year’ at the prestigious England Golf Awards, recognising an extraordinary year of unity, growth and competitive success across one of England’s leading golf counties.
The award was presented at the England Golf Awards ceremony at The Manchester Deansgate Hotel honouring Cheshire’s outstanding commitment to supporting its 95 affiliated clubs and delivering impact at every level of the game.
The event had a full house of nearly 400 representing England Golf and its counties.
The award was presented.to Cheshire by radio and TV presenter Chris Hollins.
Cleveland McCurdy, Chairman of Cheshire Golf Ltd, said: “This award is a proud moment for everyone involved in Cheshire Golf.
“It reflects the incredible dedication of our clubs, volunteers, coaches and players, and the unity that has been created across the county. To be recognised nationally in this way is a tremendous honour.”
Cheshire President Marjorie Griffiths added:“This award from EG to Cheshire Golf as ‘County of the Year’ is recognition of where we are now and where we have come from and it is a tribute to our 95 Golf Clubs and all their members, many of whom have volunteered, played and supported us over the years.
“We should be proud of what we have achieved but use this as a springboard to strengthen the game of golf at all levels in the County and to promote the game for all to enjoy..
