Disley star shows his waterproof qualities

After the recent warm and sunny weather the players at Bramhall had to endure horrible rain for the bulk of their rounds.
The Bramhall course showed its excellent drainage properties and aided by its excellent greens saw some amazing scores in the various sections of competition.
There was also excellent service by the catering staff at the 19th hole enjoyed by players and officials as they recovered from the wet conditions.
The star of the day was Disley Golf Club’s assistant professional Ian Ridgway who pulled off a superb double.
Mr Consistent Craig Corrigan had led for most of the day in the individual pro section with a commendable 39 points, one more than Grant Hamerton (Pike Fold).
But this was eclipsed by Ian with an unbelievable 42 and his amateur partner David Codd added two valuable points to see them win the pro am section on a cpo on 44 with father and son combo of Tom and Mike Fenton (Styal).
They finished one clear of Grant Hamerton and Rob Bannister (Pike Fold) who won a cpo from Chorley’s dynamic duo of Jack Wiggans and Graham Moores.
It was also close in the Am Am section with Sean Moore and Hayden Brownsword (New Mills) leading in with 40 from Stamford hotshots Steve Finan and Tommy Simpson who won a cpo on 39 from Sale lady stars England seniors regular Cath Rawthore and Julie Matthews.
Finally the nearest the pin prize went to Elliot Tickle (North Manchester).
