MARRIOTT Worsley Park Golf Club were excellent first time hosts for the Alliance Mixed Pairs competition for the historic Hancock Trophy.
There was a good field of top mixed pairs enjoying the excellent facilities at the club, both on and off the course, and a tight contest went to the wire with a cpo on 44 points.
It went in favour of Ashton-under-Lyne GC’s dynamic duo of Tony and Joanne Edwards, pictured receiving the Trophy from Alliance President Ian Brooks (Bolton Old Links), from the experienced and talented pairing of Mobi Rawthore ( a previous winner of the trophy) and his Sale partner Julie Matthews.
The am am section top three was completed by home pair Dave Winder and Fern Chin on 42.
The pro am winners were Chris Bibby and his Bury partner Cadey Hodgin 43, three more than Callum Blinkhorn and Laura Holcroft (Leigh GC).
Callum was the top individual pro with a neat haul of 39 points taking him seven clear of Chris Bibby.
The final prize of the day went to Alliance Captain Don Milliagn (Ashton-on-Mersey) who showed his clinical skills winning the Nearest the Pin.
