Hart Common great hosts again
Sponsored by Peter Roberts (Hart Common GC)
The Manchester and District Golf Alliance kicked off the second half of its Centenary Winter Series at Hart Common Golf Club.
Hart Common GC, led by owner Peter Roberts who was the competition sponsor, provided their usual warm welcome and great support on a course which played well after the awful weather we have endured in the last few months setting up a close contest enjoyed by a good field of players.
The star of the day was PGA professional Rob Braithwaite, a manager at Scottsdale Golf, who pulled off a great double.
Rob topped the individual pro section with a fine haul of 42 points leaving him well clear of MDGA OoM contender Josh Crumplin (Disley) 38 and the ever-steady Callum Blinkhorn (Leigh) 37.
Rob’s partner Dom Curley (Harwood) gave him good support to amass 45 points and lead in the pro am section by a whisker from Josh Crumplin and Chris Jackson (Tytherington) 44 and the Leigh father and son team of Callum and Mark Blinkhorn 43.
It was hot in the am am section with home duo Gerado Bricalli and Tony Robinson losing out on a cpo on 41 to Tony Stiles (Sale) and Dave Chambers (Stockport).
Chasing them all the way were Craig Gilligan (High Legh Park) and Kris Partington (Alder Root) 40.
The Nearest the pin prize was won by Alliance legend ‘Smooth as Silk’ Craig Corrigan.
MDGA President gave Hart Common their deserved praise for another immaculate hosting of an Alliance competition.
