Action man James ready for a great year at Old Links

JAMES Perks has been a member of Bolton Old Links for 30 years with a current handicap of 13 and a previous best of 9.
His club is riding high in all aspects and James is looking forward to a great year at his beloved club.
As well as golf he also enjoys dog walking, bicycle riding, watching cricket, football and rugby league and supporting Bolton Wanderers.
He expects to be playing golf three or four times a week as well as doing grand dad’s child minding duties.
James said: “Even after 30 years I never get tired of the wonderful, views from our course. We can see the Welsh mountains, Jodrell Bank, aircraft landing at Manchester Airport and the Pennines running all around, Rochdale, Oldham and Winter Hill.
With all this as well as a fantastic golf course we are really blessed.
My favourite hole at my club is the 13th par five which we play downhill with stunning views.
My golfing highlight was playing with my wife and son at Kiawah Island and my other favourite course is Conway in North Wales.
Finally if I could choose three players to join me in a fourball they would be Jimmy Tarbuck, Eric Sykes and Ronnie Corbett – all good golfers in their time and it would be a joke-filled 18 holes!”
