National award for Knutsford GC
KNUTSFORD Golf Club, which is backing the drive to grow the game is delighted to have achieved the SafeGolf club accreditation from England Golf.
The award demonstrates the club’s commitment to safeguarding children and young people as well as adult in risk in the sport of golf.
The club continually attracts new members, visitors and societies and is particularly proud of its England Golf ‘Women in Golf’ participation and its thriving junior section which has about 30 members under the guidance of club professional Tim Maxwell who facilitates coaching and playing time.
Natalie Cusselle who led the push to SafeGolf and works as the club’s welfare officer, said: “Myself, husband Jon, daughter Annie and son Harry love Knutsford Golf Club.
“It’s very friendly, welcoming and forward-thinking and our juniors really feel part of the club. This award helps us the spread the message and to tell people that children are safe and secure here and that we understand about beginner golfers.”
The award was presented to the club by Ben Johnson, England’s North West Club Support Officer who said: “I’m delighted that Knutsford GC has achieved SafeGolf accreditation and that its efforts to grow the game can be nationally recognised.
