A good field enjoyed the splendid views, excellently presented and challenging course and superb clubhouse staff and facilities at Disley Golf Club in the latest fixture.
Swinton Park professional Dave Smith and his able partner Jimmy O’Reilly won for the second successive week posting 44 points in the pro am section to finish ahead of Craig Corrigan and Darren Wood (Bolton Old Links) who won a cpo on 42 from Scott Jackson and Disley Captain Dave Codd.
The top individual professional was Jamie Howarth (Davenport) 38 points, one more than Dave Smith and Scott Howarth (Davenport).
Leading in the am am section were Dave Smith and Danny Beeley (Ellesmere) with 41 points. It was a great introduction to the Alliance for Nick Rabbeth (Stamford) on his first outing. He arrived without a partner and was paired with big-hitting Charles Herbert (Styal). It was obviously a good combination as they came in second with 40 points. The ever consistent Steve Finan and Martin Dwyer (Stamford) took third spot on 39 points.
The winner of the nearest the pin prize was Dave Bradbury (Disley).
It was also good to see in action together the father and son Stamford combo of Tony and Mark Smith (pictured above), who have both been Alliance Captain’s in recent years.
